NETFORMS is an add-on application which runs on your WEBSTAR WWW server. It allows forms entered by users of the server to be automatically converted to formatted HTML documents, which can then be read by other Web clients.
The HTML documents generated can contain any element normally found in WWW documents, including text, bullet lists, graphics, and hypertext links. The documents can also be indexed and searched (by other WEBSTAR add-ons) and placed within menu hierarchies for easy access.
NETFORMS makes your server interactive - Instead of simply publishing information for users to read, NETFORMS gives your users the ability to give feedback, add information, and contribute to your Internet server.
NETFORMS gives you full control over document formats - Users of your server will enter the text to create new documents on your server, but you, as the server administrator, have full control over formatting of those documents. You may include graphics, limit field lengths, and specify how the document will be placed in your menu system.
NETFORMS is flexible - The server administrator can define words or phrases that will be automatically hyper-text linked within each article entered into the system. For example, when the user puts the name of your company in their article, that name can be automatically linked to your company's Home Page. The administrator can also add a variety of navigational links to make articles easy to browse.
NETFORMS is compatible - No special hardware or software is required by the client. Users use standard Web Browsers that support forms (like NCSA Mosaic 2.0 or Netscape) and have full capability to create and read articles.
NETFORMS is fast and efficient - Documents as large as 24K can be created by users. Even large documents with hundreds of automatic links can be processed in 2 seconds or less. Performance is even better on Power Macintosh computers, since the program runs entirely in Power Mac "native" mode.
